Thanks! I will look for it tonight. I know I capped a carb tube, guess that is where the tube needs to go. Now I need to cap the intake manifold port.msampsel wrote:Tube usually to bottom of rear carb

Having met Aaron Weiss, I think he is a 'car guy' - not a snob. He does own some BEAUTIFUL CLASSIC cars indeed, but that doesn't seem to prejudice him on lesser marques. After all, these shows are as much for the consumer as the "competitor".
Check out also the Huntington Beach Concourse this weekend. High end classics and lots of other 'lesser' ones. Lovely location, good cause.

Yes, I definitely agree. In spite of my somewhat rude letter last year, Mr Weiss sent back a very measured and kind response. That is why I wanted to attend the show.mraitch wrote:Having met Aaron Weiss, I think he is a 'car guy' - not a snob. Pics from the San Marino Motor classic. There were four roadsters there and not a single Z, kind of a bummer. Nice venue and some amazing cars. The Bugatti here was totally amazing.

It was great to see the 4 cars - excellent examples of our cars - this was a quality show = well worth the money.

Rich neglected to mention that he received second place in "J" Class. This show was a full-on 100-point judged event with the guys in the straw hats and coats - amazing cars (if "over-restored" stock cars is your thing of course
).
First place went to a very rare Mazda Cosmo.

So, there are at least 3 Cosmo's on the left coast - Mazda has one, Mike Malamud and Jay.

I'm glad you saw the fourth roadster, the '67.5 1600, apparently owned by the Sage Automotive Group that was on the opposite side of the grounds from the J Class area. It's a beauty. I was going to make my way back to the J Class cars and make sure the other Roadster owners knew it was there, but got sidetracked by the fact that I hadn't eaten all day.motorman7 wrote:Pics from the San Marino Motor classic. Yes, it was a very enjoyable show with a great variety of cars. I was hoping to see a few more cars in the J Class; 2000GT, some Zs, early SRL, for example. Still, I had a great time checking out all these classics and had a good talk with motorman7. As someone who's pretty new to the Datsun world (and old cars in general), I always appreciate when the more experienced owners take the time to share their knowledge.

I got second, only because John had his car there 'For Display Only' . Otherwise I would have got third...maybe fourth if you throw in the Sage roadster. I'll take it though.
I asked the event coordinator if I should bring my Z or the Roadster to the event. He said bring the roadster, because you don't see too many of those. Had I known there were no Z's in the field and three/four roadsters, I would have brought the Z.
Again, phenomenal show and great location. Was great talking with everyone.

A friend with a pretty cool car/racing blog used a bunch of my photos from the San Marino event, including my many shots of the Datsun roadsters there. If you want to check them out, head on over to: http://www.throughtheapex.com/san-marin ... ssic-2015/
