2. to mount the clock movement to the original frame I used some scrap hard plastic tubing I had in my treasures drawer. I don't throw anything away

For the hour hand I used a tiny bit of brass tubing of the appropriate diameter from my local hobby shop. I found that if I used a tubing cutter, it crimped the diameter at the end of the tube just nicely for a press fit to the hour hand whilst the true diameter of the tube slipped over the clock movement plastic nice and snug

Bottom line, I just fiddled around with my bits and pieces and cobbled it all together till it looked right and worked
