VDCA Vintage race at VIR

Post by Mike Unger »

We had a great weekend at VIR April 10-12. Nice weather, lots of Prod cars to race with and racing at one of the best tracks in the country. Best of all the roadster was well behaved and we didn't have to work on it much. We finished 4th OA on Saturday behind three Lotus 7s and 2nd OA Sunday when two of the front runner 7s broke during the race. That's when it can be better to be lucky vs. good! We just can't keep tires under the roadster to keep up with the best 1300 lb Loti in the country. Still fun to try! Some fast MGBs, Triumphs and Morgans in this crowd too. Here's some video from Saturday's qualifying.

Here's Saturday's race. Kind of boring after the 7's drive off but you get to watch them dice for a lap. I just worked on maintaining a gap to the following car.

Mike

Very nice, racing has changed a wee bit since 1975, I never had a heads up display. Way cool of course. I assume it is showing the gees you are pulling.
Also what are the 7's? I like the roadster the best and its sound is very nice too!

Mike I always enjoy watching you race. If it weren't for this damn broken foot being in a cast I would be working on my 67 to have her ready for next season! I will be running an R16 not a U20 but it should still be fun mixing it up on the track with her. Keep the videos coming!!

Got a chance to watch some of the footage... Engine sounds great, very happy and not a hiccup!
