Hello Maggie,
Nice to see more women enthusiasts!
Congratulations on your new addition! When I was 18, my boyfriend and I moved to Houston, we only lasted two weeks before we ran (ok, drove, a 65 Dodge Coronet 500, as a matter of fact) back to Oregon. But I must say, we met some nice, nice folks there before we left!
Again, congratulations and hope to hear about your adventures with the car!

funny story about 311s being chick magnets
A friend of mine just bought a brand new Honda S2000 and so we decided to meet up for lunch. I pulled up and parked right next to him to see the two roadsters side by side. We went inside and had a couple of beers and as we were leaving this smokin' blond walks right in between our two cars. She looks over at me says "nice car".
After I wet myself and wiped the drool of my face, I looked over at my friend and laughed. I said "hey and to think you paid 15 times what i paid" He said "screw you, now try just try to follow me"

Well, anyone with the cash can buy a new one. The old ones show you have style. Then again, maybe it also shows you didn't have enough for a new one?
My 18 year old daughter, who refused to be seen in town in my old MGTD replica, is considering being seen in the roadster. She is also thinking of learning to drive a stick in it?? Her mother blew a CV joint to pieces learning to drive a stick on my Saab Turbo. Might be hereditary, or just a bad choice of cars to learn on.
The MG was actually dangerous on the highway, people kept getting next to it and looking, but as they looked, they usally drifted into my lane.

That is funny, It is true about the attention. I have taken it out for a ride a few times and it does turn heads. I feel a bit funny at stop lights knowing that so many poeple are watching me (or should I say, My car).
It rained all weekend so I didn't get to take a picture but I will. I checked ebay and the picture is no longer there. I drove my roadster to work one day and the kids thought it was a toy. I have also had people knock on my door wanting to know if it is for sale. Thank You All for being so kind and making me feel so welcome here.

My wife loved riding in the car, I shouldn't have sold it, but made a $2000 profit, so it wasn't so bad. She used to get all paranoid, same thing, felt like everyone was looking.

What Registry?
Hi Steve,
I didn't mean to take so long to answer your question. No my car is not registered with the registry. What registry is this and how do you register? I sent my car to get painted so the picture will have to wait till it comes home. I can't wait! The next thing will be to find some good bumpers, nine are ugly (rusty). All the chrome on my car is ugly!

While the car is getting painted, see if you can send the chrome out to a bumper shop and get them redone. They can save some pretty bad bumpers. Might do trim too.

I was given this reference by Sam Griffin, who lives in North Texas. I haven't contacted them, but plan to when I get my bumpers done: http://www.311s.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2485
