Hello From Northern California!

Post by Gars68 »

Proud owner of a 68 1600 4spd bought from the original owner last week. Car has 150K original miles....spanish red exterior and black interior. Cleaned the float bowls, replaced all fuel lines, and tuned her up, and she fired up quick. Still working out some electrical bugs (no brake lights....what a suprise) so I haven't driven her yet....maybe this weekend. Exterior of car is clean with only one repaint done on the cars 25th birthday. Chrome is good too. Interior needs some attention however. $800 in brake repair done in 1998 when the car had around 147K miles. Found an 8 cent stamp in the console! So, this whole deal came about when my wife found a home listed for sale, that we recently ended up purchasing. The owner of the home was also the owner of the car. We got um both!

Congrats and welcome. "Garage" find indeed.
Don't forget to add details to the registry.

Welcome! If you haven't seen it here already, the brake pedal switch is frequently the culprit. It was the first repair I made on mine as well. I used the NAPA part number listed here in the tech section and got it from my O'Reilly's guy. Just because he has been very helpful with other cars. Again, welcome and good luck!

Love the background story! Always fun stuff to hear... "Just how did this Roadster love affair begin?". "Well, the wife and I went to look at this house, and we saw this car..."

You have some great roads thru "Gold Country"up there. Also Napa is near too.
Guess what, you can call a Fun Run , post it in the Events thread, drum up some participants and then, Go! :)

Welcome to area and to the Roadster family. I work in Rocklin. We will get together some time. There are a number of Roadster owners in the area. There also a Datsun club that meets the 1st friday night of each month. PM me for more details.
