Crank 74700 ??

Post by eastmedia »

I have a crank with the part number 74700. Couldn't find it in the parts PDF micro-fiche.

Anyone know what crank this might be? It came from an engine that had R16 rods and flat top pistons.

Is it a 3 main or 5? Could be an H20 crank.

Parts book identifies the -747xx part type was designed for the vehicle model 41(67).
What the heck is that type of vehicle?

Well the block serial # is R 55019. It has flat top pistons that say "F (front?) 50" so I assume they're .50 over.

It had 3 rods that were part #14640 and one rod in a sleeved cylinder that was #14600.

It has an early type water pump. The crank is turning now that I've removed the pistons so I'm hoping I got a stroker crank of some sort.

Pulled apart another engine and have another crank that says "74742" with a big R stamped near the nose of the crank.

Anyone know what these cranks might be for?
