Scraped all of the sound deadener under the carpet off. Took 2 hours with a hammer and a gasket scraper. Real blast, as fun as a barrel of monkeys!

In this day and age I should have known better than to disrespect monkeys....
Today has consisted of large amount of blasting and will be followed with epoxy primer. My heater box will now be nice and black while it awaits new o-rings for it's friend, heater valve.

Mitch,
next time use a heat gun and one of those Dremel type vibrating tools - better monkey tool. <G>

What a difference! Did you re-finish the spokes or just clean them? Those tires are huge!theunz wrote:back side![]()

Those are really cool! Having had to restore my Cosmics from a similar condition, I can relate to the amount of time and effort... Well done!

Thanks guys, really not that much "work" involved. Spent about 30 minutes on each wheel in the blast cabinet ( one of the most time and back saving tools I own) and 15 minutes with the buffer. Alvin, the tires are 215/60/14. Wish I could find some more as those fit perfect with stock suspension and no fender rolling. Can't seem to find anything bigger than 195/60/14 now other than race tires. Even the 195s don't seem to be any kind of performance tires. Any suggestions, I'd really like to keep my Empis. Greg, I know what you mean about work as I repainted the wheels on a Infiniti G37s I had a few years ago. I must of spent at least an hour sanding each wheel. Mike

Curtis, I used glass beads, they leave parts "ready to paint".
