Original steelies?

Post by guyatou »

I got a few spare parts the other day from a family friend who supplied me with my 1968 Roadster sever years ago.

Included was a set of 4 wheels/tires, and one oddball. He thought the went to a roadster, I think only the oddball does.

Oddball: TOPY 8-69 4-1/2 Jx14S 3.2

Set of 4: 14x5 J DOT TOPY 807 77 F3.8

Any thoughts as to what they go to? Was gonna keep one as a spare, and ditch the rest!

Cheers,

Michael

And this is the loner, which I think may actually be a Roadster wheel. If so, I'll keep it for a spare.

Michael, the set of 4 is def. not Roadster as they are 5 lug. By the way how is your car coming along? Mike

HA! I hadn't noticed that. I think they're 6 hole, actually. To the scrap heap they shall go!

The U20 is still at Buddy Rice Machine Shop awaiting a thorough rebuilding. Dropped it off in June, and they still haven't torn it down yet. (Which is fine, I'm broke anyway!)

How about your project?

6 lug could be off a 212? Or an early truck... I, however, know only that much.

Michael, the single wheel numbers match ( except for the date) the wheels I got from you earlier. My car is going well. I finally finished the paint and body work. I put the engine and tranny in and put the body back on the chassis a few weeks ago, now I just need to do a thousand little things. I plan to have it ready for Solvang in April. By the way did you see that we have a new member from OKC , raggs553 is his screen name I think. Get out and shoot some pics and get some money to finish your car! Mike
