Old enough to know better, too old to remember why!
1969 2000 solex mine since 1972, under resurrection. (Finally resurrected as of spring 2019!)
1969 Porsche 911s -worth more, but not as valuable! Gone!
2017 Lotus Evora 400 - Oh my!!
Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
Quick question: the SU carbs need a major tuning. What do you guys recommend.
1) buying a carb kid and doing it myself or
2) Sending then off to a carb shop?
If I do it myself what "carb kid" should I use and what dealer/vendor do you recommend.
Same goes for a carb shop. Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I'm not an SU expert but major tuning usually requires something to address leaking thottle shafts as they wear out hole. Unless you are equiped to do something like replacing bushings or installing roller bearings you will likely have to send them off or replace with rebuilt/new. There are other options out there as well to replace SUs all together so compare options and take your time. You may also benefit from having them looked at first to see what kind of condition they really are in.
