Introduction. I don't have a roadster
Just wanted to introduce myself. Just signed up. I do not have a roadster. I collect a few Datsuns and have owned a variety of Datsuns over the last 27 years.. but my sports cars have always been Porsches. I hope to change that soon. As soon as I can sell my Porsche 914-6 (conversion) track car, hope to get myself a nice mostly originall Roadster 2000 "driver".. nothing fancy, nothing that is a project, just a good solid driver.
I currently have a 71 510 wagon ratty driver, a 71 510 wagon with just a touch of mods to make it handle nice on the backroads (KA swap, front 280ZX brakes , coilopvers, camber plates, etc.. just mild). ALso a 620 truck .. bone stock right now in my favorite green color.. its our "farm truck". Also a Porsche 914-6 RS SPEC motor track car (about 250hp). I road race a 71 510 Wagon with VARA and also have another 510 4 door (not pictured) with logbooks back to the early '80's and race history before that which I will be building to race in B-sedan class in the next couple of years to go with The Wagon.
Hope to spend some time browsing here and learning about the roadsters as i honestly know very little about them. I have sat in one.. like the fit. Have never actually driven one.

Welcome.
Hopefully we may be able to add your name to the list of OWNERS. Suggest you post you city/state in your avatar - ya never know what will turn up.
As others will probably attest - buy the most EXPENSIVE you can afford (providing the 'spense' is well justified) - some people on this site will check out cars for you - watch out for lower fender rust, bondo etc.
You have found one of the BEST single marque sites on the web - we can all steer you right.
When you find the car - remember to post PIX!!

Re: Introduction. I don't have a roadster
I may be biased but I would pull the engine out of the 510 wagon and install it in a roadster chassis.
LOL.

Not having a Roadster, easily fixed. Having too many is the usual problem.
Where are you located?

Dave, are you thinking of just dropping a Roadster off as a "Welcome to the Fraternity/Sorority" gesture?dbrick wrote:Not having a Roadster, easily fixed. Having too many is the usual problem.

Thanks! looking forward to getting one soon when i find just the right one!.. Newcastle, CA.. near Sacramento. Hoping to unload that 914 ASAP. That would make buying a roadster a bit easier!

Thanks Rodney... I just might take you up on that sometime down the road. I have only sat in one, never driven one. I would love (when i am actually ready to buy, cash in hand and diligently looking) to take my wife to see yours... i want her to appreciate these also.
When i get ready to buy, i might ask for you opinion / advice as i look.
