I think the Nissan 620 trucks also had 3/4" cylinders, but with a different geometry.
I saw pic that had all the pieces but also an extra seal and the interchange numbers were mapped.
I was thinking of ordering one to see if it would work. Perhaps you'll beat me to it.

The front shocks are now installed. Even managed to get grease in 3 of the 4 ball joints. Forget the spindles, no go.
Hung the new exhaust. We'll see how it goes. It's really a close fit going over the rear axle.
Did not want to use my OEM datsun insulators or exhaust so I found an isulator from Bosal. Slightly taller than the stock pipe hangers but exactly the same as the resonator insulator. They have a Peugeot one that is rectangular like the Datsun so I will get one and see if it works. Also made some new heat shields.

Taller might be badder.
There is not a lot of real estate inside the chassis tube and that extra couple of mm may cause you grief.

So far seems okay. Bent the tabs down slightly. Once I get the motor back in I'll know.Nissanman wrote:Taller might be badder.

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters o
I went to grease all of my front suspension zerks on Saturday to find that all of my ball joints (upper, lower, tie rods, etc.) have no grease boots on them. They've all melted. Luckily my car has not seen rain in a very long time, and the ball joints have gotten a lot of grease, so I think they're still okay. I ordered $40 worth of Energy Suspension grease boots and coil spring isolators. I'm also thinking I might do the 510 tie rod conversion with Moog parts. While I'm at it, I may do the front shocks.
I also found that the lower bushing on my idler box is shot.

Jordan, my local Auto Trans workshop rehabilitated my idler box with new bushes and a re-chromed shaft.
The bush was honed to size after the shaft was re-surfaced and everything is now as good as new.

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters o
After hopefully fixing my brake caliper issue (drilled and re-tapped the modified mount for the Toyota calipers, tried to do studs but realized only after I had put it all together that you can't mount the caliper on studs with the rotor on... Doh!), I discovered the front four rocker arms are disintegrating... Only the front four. These were very new, two piece, and had been resurfaced at Isky. Not blaming them or the arm etc as it has happened before, but I'm not sure if it's coincidence or some other issue regarding just the front four. At this point I'm going with it being coincidence. So, off to Delta Cam so they can resurface them before the Shedd BBQ! Roadster down!

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters o
So I decided that it probably WASN'T a coincidence that the front for rockers went bad, so after making up a tool to spin the oil pump with a drill, I observed that the front four did in fact NOT receive any oil from the cam holes as designed. Pulled the cam, cleaned it out with brake cleaner and compressed air, confirmed that the bearings were getting oil (appears the front one was not and was a little scratchy compared to the others but not bad), reinstalled the cam and again confirmed oil flow, and they work well now. Of course, I didn't observe that the Roadster and turned into the Exxon Valdize on the garage floor from the oil line attached to the dizzy mount... You all keep that in mind if you prelube your engines in this manner! Called Delta Cam, and they should be able to turn the rockers in a day or so. The others looked absolutely perfect, so with the oiling issue hopefully solved we should be golden.

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters o
That's for sure... get on it! The good news is that the other 4 that were actually getting oil are perfect and wiping just fine, so I anticipate and expect that this issue will be solved. Bums me out though that these were really nice, very lightly used before I got them (thanks Tim) and now they are gonna have to be cut some as the damage is deep. I have another set but they are already matched to the Racer Brown cam I had so they would have to be resurfaced as well. At least the new cam is fine.

Completely disassembled the passenger side front end to install new shocks, urethane boots/bushings/isolators, idler box rebuild, and steering tie rods. Also found my lower ball joints are shot. Grrrr. Ordered a set of Rare Parts BJs this morning.

Also installed my Hella 700FFs and 3000K HID kit on my X.
