^^Having built countless distributors now, I have never seen that before. I don't think I would ever diagnose that remotely. Great find - and again, something new learned.

Wow, I'm with Linda... You should be given the "Best Breakdown Award" for that one! But what an attitude, not letting this ruin the trip, knowing that the Roadster decides what "the trip" means and you're along for the ride, like it or lump it! Glad you're all home safe and the car is back to running.

Disassembled a few hundred distributors, never seen that. Maybe an exorcism after it's on the road, just to be safe. Live chicken is optional, but suggested.
