new guy, thanks for having me....
hey all..... new guy here, steve, picking up a 67 1600 tomorrow morning... its in pretty nice shape. no rust and interior just needs cleaned.... its been parked for 3 years.. turns over but does not start... should be a fairly easy bit of work to get it going.....anyhow... im in the i.t. field but love to tinker on cars.... any car....no brand particular here.... I like em all... when I was a teen dad had a 66, spl310 that was a roadracer... my uncle brought it back from japan and dad bought it from him....pretty cool and fast ride...anyhow, heres a pic of what im getting tomorrow...

Welcome, where in SC are you?
Nice looking ride, glad it's in good shape.
Any other symptoms of your non-start issue? We love to help and conjecture and tell you all the things you can do to get her going!
First suggestion, drain gas tank, flush all fuel lines and clean out carbs - old fuel is really bad stuff and these 45+ year old cars tend to gather sediment and build up over time, particularly when sitting.

"When all else fails, force prevails!" Ummm, we're gonna need a bigger hammer here.

Re: new guy, thanks for having me....
whether the engine is original in the 66 I dont know.... it was a 1600, dual solex carbs and a lot of engine work...it was a road race car .... and it outran a v8 vega.....
as for the 67.... I had to pass on it unfortunately..... he didn't have the paperwork he said he had and the data plate was missing from the car....it did look nice though.... oh well...if anyone is interested heres the ad for it...

Interesting... It looked like a twin cam engine valve cover, or maybe there's something on top of the engine? Sounds like fun! Welcome to (or is that welcome back to) the Roadster madness! The wagon looks fast AND useful, a good combo for sure.pinturbo75 wrote:whether the engine is original in the 66 I dont know.... it was a 1600, dual solex carbs and a lot of engine work...it was a road race car .... and it outran a v8 vega.....
