good to meet you
Hello my name is Steve and I live in New York City. A couple of words about how I got here. I have been a Datsun guy all my life ( 5 total) and thought I had finally reached the end of the road when I found a '78 12K mi S30 survivor. I was happy with that for a few years until I started dreaming of a vintage SRL- more specifically a 67.5 low windshield 2 liter.
I decided the next step was to sell the Z and listed it as an exclusive on BaT (see below)
http://bringatrailer.com/2013/12/05/bat ... -survivor/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I have been on a search for the perfect VNTGESRL since....hence the username.
I intend to go to Watkins Glen event in September, sadly there aren't a lot of roadster events here on the east coast....So good to meet you, and until my roadster finds me, I'll enjoy reading your posts and looking at your beautiful cars.

Beautiful Z, and I see it sold! Now you have some funds to play with. I was lucky and found mine under a pile of snow nearly 30 yrs ago, and it's been a constant love affair ever since, and one I can't stop messing with! I love Z cars, but there is just something about the vintage feel of a Roadster. The Z was a more "complete" car in that it made for a fun daily driver and a great weekend drive partner, where as the Roadster is a bit more "fiddly" for daily driving (though mine was when I lived in So Cal). Now that the car can be for fun mainly, the vintage Roadster is where it's at! Welcome and good luck on your search... It can be a long one for a 67 2000! Check out Bobs, as I hear you won't likely find one nicer!

Re: good to meet you
Welcome, patience (and cash) will get you the Roadster you desire. In the meantime wandering through this site can bring you up to speed on what to look for and what to look out for. Lots of expert at your fingertips. I reiterate Bob's Roadster as stellar candidate that would meet the most discriminating tastes for someone looking for a perfect turn key solution. What is your budget range and are you looking for a project or a completed driver or something in between?

Like the boys say... Check out Bob's car. It is the best restored 67.5 to sell in awhile in my humble opinion... And Bob is the right guy to buy from.

Re: good to meet you
Thanks @notoptoy ,
I would consider myself a bone stock kinda guy, and I know there is a premium for that type of car...but I've always been told to buy the nicest car you can find...I can be very patient.
I also see you are from Ocala, and I have a house in Sarasota, where I kept the Z car. Please let me know if there are any events in Florida I should know about. I think I had one of the only vintage Datsuns in the Sarasota area!

Re: good to meet you
Bob's car can be bone stock pretty easily, and it's not far from it to begin with. Definitely the best you can buy for your money in my opinion.
As far as events, The Villages Today! The Villages is the fastest growing city in the USA. Founded as a mega retirement community by a Billionaire the per Capita net worth is in the stratosphere. A lot of the retirees have some very, very nice cars. It's a huge event every 3rd Saturday of the month. I 've heard the Sarasota Auto Museum holds quite a few events as well? Otherwise Kissimmee/Orlando area has a lot going on. Quite a ride for you though.

Re: good to meet you
Bob's car is completely stock other than some chrome. You won't find a better example of a 67.5 roadster that you can turn the key and drive. I think James still has a 67.5 2000 for sale? His is a fine example as well, and maybe more within your budget. James, do you still have your car for sale??

Re: good to meet you
Bob's car is about as close to bone stock as you can find. The chrome details aside, everything else is done to an exceptionally high level. And if you want bone stock, Bob can dial it right in for you... He has an amazing tickle trunk full of 67.5 goodies...

Bob has no problem returning the chromed stuff to stock.
