Long overdue introduction

Post by NastyNissan »

I joined the site back in October 2012. Just hiding in the shadows, gathering as much info about these cars as I can. I finally figured it was time for introduction.
I must say the atmosphere of the forum has me hooked. Everyone seems helpful and respectful of others. I have been on other Forums where there was more trash talk than help or encouragement. That’s probably why its no longer around. Cant survive if no one wants to stay. Just wanted to give some positive feedback there.

So, I picked up my ‘67 1600 from my brother, back in July of 2012. His introduction to this oddball of a car started my new fondness for the old Fairlady, even before he told me he was thinking of letting it go. Got it home, drove it a few times, then it took a back seat to life revolving around family and work. Doesn’t help the rust monster had started to take over. Along with bad fuel in the tank she sat in the garage waiting for her turn to be resurrected. I also have another ongoing project truck, a ‘98 Nissan Frontier.

Well some progress has been made and it is thanks to the tech section of this forum. Cant put into words how enthusiastic I am to finally make headway with it.
Big shout out to my brother for providing me with a great starting point

Guess I will leave it at that for now. Back to work.
Hope to have some build updates soon.

Thanks for reading
Nick

Welcome Nick,
Let's see more pictures of your ride! This site is great. I can honestly say I would rather search this forum than open the Datsun repair manual. The instructions and pictures are better for sure.

Welcome.

To echo what Greg said, there is a ton of info on this site in the forum as well as the wikki pages. It is all hard won real world tech info by others who have "been there, done that" I have an original shop manual, and used to use it all the time. Now I come here, and if need be I bring my laptop over to the car.
Will trade guitars for roadsters, food, shelter, clothes, etc, etc.

Our family keeps growing. Glad you have found us to be helpful and respectful... we have a few "issues" on occasion like any other family, but we all share a passion for the cars over most everything, and that is what usually comes through. Welcome!

Welcome. There are quite a few owners from your general area.
Still waiting for all of y'all to gather for a FunRun/BBQ. :)
Must be like herding cats!
