I like the tan color actually - it looks great on classic cars. My 71 BMW is tan - but they call it Sahara so they can charge extra.

Cheers

They can call it Baby Puke Yellow. As long as it says BMW or Porsche or Mercedes or Alfa they'll charge extra.

I finally have every light, switch and gauge on the vehicle working.
No shorts and no blown fuses.
Taking it out for a spin now.

While back out of the garage, i heard the sound of a wash bucket crunching against the side of the roadster :(
I was afraid to look.

Put Swepco in tranny and diff. Weird that it's blue. Still having brake problems - waiting for a Motive bleeder - so couldn't try her out.

Went to install a new radiator today. The builder made it 3/4" to wide so none of the mount holes line up in the support bars or shroud. sigh. I can't win with this car.

That's not a spray can job. That's the Infamous $50 Paint Job (Google it). A roller and lots of elbow grease, right, Ron?

What's the new color code? I'm thinking of something similar in the future so I don't disappear in the Sea of Red Roadsters. :smt005
Yes. Roller. There's a thread here somewhere. Paint code 665.

Congratulations!
Our State Government has abolished registration lables on passenger vehicles completely
Ostensibly a money saving move...for them.
Have a guess how high the fine is for driving an unregistered car and how many are being done for it?
With no lable, folks are losing track of when the renewal is due and it is a REAL cash cow for the Guvmint

How do they get you? with no sticker or label, they would have to run plates on all cars to spot expired registrations. I can see people forgetting and being fined by the the motor vehicle dept for being late, but it would seem that many could get by driving around with expired registration without consequence.

Roman, apparently the patrol cars have a whizz bang number/license plate recognition camera and the computer application checks in real time the validity of the rego.
A lot of faith has been put into that system
The motorist still gets a renewal notice in the post but unless you are well organised, and apparently a lot of people aren't, it all slips away and Voila! the faeces hits the rotary oscillator.
With no lable on the car, if you lose track of the renewal notice things go awry.
You can check your vehicles details online but not everyone can go online
It's a great system :?
Here is what the web site says about my rego. plate when I interrogate it: -

Plate Type JUBILEE
Plate Number 155S
Make NISSAN
Body Type SEDAN
Primary Colour BEIGE
Expiry Date 23/07/2014

The vehicle registration is either suspended or the vehicle is stolen, defected, or has a writeoff incident recorded.

I had a Nissan Skyline stolen over 3 years ago and the plates were re-issued to the Maxima which replaced it.
The web site infers the car is KAPUT!
However, the rego. is valid

I am in the process of doing this myself. I just can't find my hole punch??

Also, are those snaps in the correct orientation? I thought they would be facing forward like the top?

I relaced both the soft-top and the boot based upon how the old top I had on my previous roadster was orientated.
I did not think that it was incorrect but maybe it was and I installed it incorrectly. Can someone let me know if I did it wrong.

The "lift the dot" fasteners should point towards the front of the car.
