Vintage racing at VIR

Post by Mike Unger »

Ellen and I had the roadster out to the vintage races at VIR April 11-13. It was great weather and we had fun racing with VDCA. Here's some video from the Wild Hare race on Friday afternoon. This is a gimmick race where all classes are invited and they start the cars in reverse order of qualifying times. Makes for a fun race with lots of passing. Unfortunately, they had to checker the race early becomes of some incidents on track but it was fun while it lasted.

Great video Mike!
Looked like you were seriously considering the three-wide pass to get around that pesky Porsche :)

Wow!!!! I just watched you pass the black CSL (3#) and it was impressive. I saw that car when it was in Houston a few months ago at Drivers Source. It looks like the new owner may have been babying it a bit.

Thanks for posting the video - this is awesome.

That was FUN!! - looks like a LOVELY track, both scenically and driving wise. Definitely preferred the "hare" event - fun to watch the passing - hope the 'checkered event' wasn't too serious for car or driver.
