Pumpkin is out of storage. Started right up and what a great day for Uvas Rd!

The transmission chatter continues to make me nervous but a fresh 5speed will be available after Solvang!

RWC Mike has expressed interest in Friday morning caravan. I probably will too...

Just confirming that this is the plan

Panera, Los Gatos - 8am
15200 Los Gatos Blvd, Los Gatos, CA 95032

Will be driving down from Belmont for my first Solvang trip and would love to join the caravan!

Plans are holding firm for 8am departure from Panera in Los Gatos as noted above.

If possible I'd like to roll close to 8am so we can meet the others further south at the specified times. Come earlier if you want to grab a coffee or breakfast.

We will likely make a lunch and/or fuel stop in Cambria. Depending on any other stops needed along the way I don't see us coming into SLO any earlier than 2p.

I have started monitoring the weather for Friday along the coast. So far I am seeing 70% chance of rain from San Jose to Big Sur. We may need to improvise a bit on start time or route. Let's reconnect on Thurs and make adjustments as the forecast firms up. I'd rather not spend 6+ hours dodging raindrops.

The forecast continues to be rain all day for points north of Cambria. My inclination is not to leave at 8am on Friday, but rather wait for the rain to clear up or leave in the very pre-dawn hours of Saturday morning.

If anyone else wants to play ring leader for the caravan, feel free to jump in. I have sent PMs to those that have responded to this thread as well.

Hope to see you down there on Sat.

Ok, I'll bite since I still plan to go this route. I still plan to leave the Watsonville Chevron about 9:15 and make a stop in Carmel at about 9:45. From there next stop will be at Gorda for a quick rest stop, then on to Cayucos for a lunch stop. Should be there around 12:30 and thinking lunch at Hoppe deli. Then we can head out at about 1:30, fuel up if needed and stop off in SLO for anyone to join in there. Meet at the Target lot off Los Osos at about 2:15pm. If Mellis meets us there and we agree to his route, we can have him lead, otherwise I plan to go down 101. I will be jumping off around the Santa Maria area so everyone one is aware. If you plan to join, please PM me before 8am tomorrow and we can exchange contact info.

It looks like it clears up as the day goes along

I'm sticking to the original plan at starting at Los Gatos at 8am…. That would put me at Watsonville around 9.30am… hope to catch up there or at Carmel!

I'm completely unsure of my plans tomorrow. Leave early, late, highway 1.

I think with the weather I will not go on highway 1. Perhaps next year

I'm gonna play it by ear. It looks to be wet around here about 2:00 so I might just head to Solvang from my house in Nipomo before it starts. If it looks half way decent I'll meet you guys in SLO.
