HELP - Weatherstrip and Trim Photos - Late Model

HELP

I just got my 68 out of the paint shop. Most of my aluminum trim and weather strip has been off for 3 years and a lot of that was not original. I since that time acquired all fresh weather strip and cleaned up my trim. Not sure how it all goes back together.

Can some of you with correct stock or near correct stock post some photos?
1. The start and end of the door weather strip
2. The fitting of the aluminum over around the weather strip
3. The start and end of felt and squeegee of either side of the door glass
4. Anything else worth capturing to help me get it right

Please list any lessons learned from your install that could help me.
I did some searching and found a couple of tips like use a hair dryer to soften the rubber, but I did not find much.

Any tips for installing trunk weather-strip? It gets glued to the lid right?

I used black weatherstrip adhesive to attach trunk weatherstrip to tunk lid.

Goop it up, let it get tacky and carefully apply. It's much easier if the lid is off the car as gravity helps...if on the car, gravity makes it hard to keep in place until the adhesive sets up...

BTW, paint looks great! Don't forget to put flat black paint on the front area behind the grill before you mount the grill.

Are you using the eom rubber weatherstripping or aftermkt pinch welt stuff? Although, not original I like the pinch welt with attached rubber strip. No glue and easy push on. I've used it on upper windshield and both doors, the stuff is better than eom in my opinion.

1.) Paint the thin metal piece that mounts on the back of the grill flat black or do you mean
2.) Paint the body of the car that shows through the grill. I yellowed it out in this photo.

Paint the yellowed out area and the vertical member in the middle of the opening. Do not paint the opening of the grill, only paint the parts that are perpendicular to the ground. Sorry hard to explain.

I believe that Nissan painted these by hand....SPL310 little help here?

Look at the pic in your user I'd. See the yellow vertical piece thru the grill. You should not be able to see it.

Maybe this photo helps. I painted it before I painted the car and just masked it off.

Another question. How do I put on this door weather strip?

Very good! Before you put the grille in permanently, place it in the hole and make sure that everything is hidden. I suspect you may need to expand the black areas on the fenders.

You Mean here (Yellow Arrow)? Both sides of course.

Do I need to worry about Blue Arrow area too?

As I recall, some of both of those areas that you indicated will be visible with the grill in place. As a frame of reference, go look at the photos of the 1600 that sold for 50k. You can see the parts that are visible. That is a 1600 - the 2000 grille shows a little bit more.
