Come to the Roadster Mountain Green Garage, near Deals Gap

Post by xdealer »

Hello: I restored my SPL 69 in 79 when I was 26 , with new replacement body parts and a 2L quickie rod-bearing and ring-job engine swap. On my maiden voyage across town, on the way back, I ran over, or rather, under, a fat old drunken Armenian man who blindingly sauntered across the 3-lane southbound US-1 at precisely the wrong time, with no other vehicles anywhere around. I still have Old Silver (663 I think), a later Nissan code. Still have it, painted again, with a modified .25mm over, balanced, Solex, Norris cam, limited slip 4.38. Still have not started the engine since '92, when I dropped it in. 3 other cars. One at Classic Datsun Forever (unfinished for years there). 67.5 engine swapped also, and a 68, no rust car I drove to ME last summer. Jesus! That was rough, as I hadn't roadstered at length in over 20 years. My Harley-Davidson dealer tenure was Roadsterus Interruptous from '92 until 2013. Motorbikes have been my bane, but I am BACK! SCCA semi-annual hillclimbs, Robbinsville NC, Nantahala National Forest, March 21-23. Maybe with the 67.5....

Very cool history, there must be pictures to support it! Welcome back to the fold!
We like pictures (hint, hint).

Sounds like an introduction to the N.C. Datsun family reunion.
Now with photos.
I hear there may be a road or two to drive down there.

Very cool. Nice assortment of Roadsters. I feel your pain, I discovered after a painful St Louis to New Jersey trip that a chunk of dense foam under the drivers seat between the webbing and the floor is a LIFE saver. Haven't heard of Norris Cams, can you enlighten us?

You may be able to help me with a Harley/Datsun problem...I need a throttle cable bracket for a Weber MCHH carb for a big twin, can't find anything that looks close..
