Mine is almost identically placed. Just a natural place to put it I guess.

Looks great with the black dash.

Thanks for posting the pic.

That's an interesting solution too, Mark.

But since I've already mounted the led in my dash I'm gonna use it!

I have put a 100K ohm resistor in line with the blue led to dim it down to the point where it's easy to see but not so bright it's irritating.

(in case this helps someone else)

Cheers

Back to the original question about the sending unit.

I found out that this unit generates it's own signal without needing power supplied (like the Classic Inst. unit).

So, the two wires from it should connect to the "signal" input and "ground" on the gauge.

Correct?

Thanks
TR

Yes, one should be a signal line and the other a ground, but any good ground will do. I think both the gauge and the sender want to be grounded. If the gauge ground is hooked directly to the sender ground and nowhere else, it may not work as intended. TR

 When in doubt, RTFM!!!
From the manual "Connect one of the wires to the signal post, it does not matter which wire......."

Thanks for the note TR, sometimes I can be more than just a little THICK!!!
