I am sure this has been discussed, but has anyone tried to remove the header without pulling the engine up? With the starter, carbs and manifold removed, would dropping the oil pan give enough clearance?

The header elbow will not fit in between the oil pan lip and chase (frame) I had this problem when I installing the motor R16.
I had to loosen up the engine mount bolt and shift the engine over to the passenger side just enough clearance for the header elbow to fit through.
This is my first experience installing this motor perhaps someone can give you a better idea on how to remove your header out.

U20 header from Dean went in without any dramatics, intake and carbs off, but the starter was in place. I have the short H20 forklift starter, might make a difference.
