not sure if this has been posted or the idea even brought up but i just wanted to see what the opionions were on this.
although, for us roadster owners it sort of defeats the purpose of swapping in an updated engine just to add carbs and be almost equally the same as a 2000.
but it does look sweet and it probably sounds sweet too!
Part of the charm of old-school sports cars is a set of sidedraft carbs. I've seen pictures of Miatas with sidedraft Webers and one with a set of SU's. Think they were in Japan. Adds character!
If you want the old school look with new tech, their was a car I saw a few years back that had, I think a KA motor that the guy cut off the plenum, indivisualized the intake runners and grafted (via rubber tubes and hose clamps) a quad TB from a motorcycle, stock TPS and computer. He finished it off by adding velocity stacks. Looked very similar to the pic Michael posted above. Could probably use the same concept on an SR
If money was unlimited, I would definitely go for the “carb look", using EFI
Doesn't TWM make or sell a weber/solex manifold to fit the KA? I haven't looked in a long time. I am sure that they sell the weber/solex/dellorto footprint throttle bodies for fuel injection. (SU as well iirc) Those could be easily adapted to the carb manifold.
There is an Australian company that sells individual throttle bodies for a SR20DE:
The link where this photo was lifted from shows that the Aussie website is called http://www.tweakit.net/ though when I clicked the link it was VERY slow. I think that they are just a re-seller for this product anyway.

iv'e heard from honda owners that these itbs aren't that great of quality as compared to tomei or twm. buts that probably why the tomei etc. are alot more expensive.
