I just need to know if there's a replacement or solution for the brass valve that is screwed to the firewall side of the intake manifold....I believe it is the one going to the heater core. Mine is leaking a little and I dont know how to stop it since it doesn't use any gasket or seal...it's just the metal-to-metal pressure created by the spring at the bottom.
I have a rag wrapped around it to avoid coolant leaking to the starter......

Dann at Rallye had a kit at one time that did away with the valve and routed the hoses in a more logical manner. You may want to contact him to see if they are still available.
I believe that the valve can be rebuilt. Valve lapping compound can be used to seat the valve. I believe that they use an O ring too, but it has been too long since I tore one apart to be sure...
