happy new owner in the foothills

Post by andyb »

Hi all,

somehow the first attempt at this didn't get posted - likely due to computer gremlins on this end.
anyway, I took delivery yesterday of a '69 1600 which I first saw at the Folsom, CA DMV back in August when I took my niece down to get her driving permit.

Last Monday, I see the car on Craigslist - and yesterday I drove it home. all the heavy lifting was done in the restoration, but it ran rough - I followed advice I saw on other intros using the search in the tech section, replaced the points and condenser and the thing runs like a champ! great info.

looking forward to a ride up the hill today to see some fall colors - may even take a pic or two.
looks like there are several owners in the greater Sacramento area. i'm located in the foothills (barely) in El Dorado Hills, which according to my friends in Placerville and Pollock Pines is "snobsville". somebody's gotta live here.

Great looker Andy. When you are doing some remove/replace/clean activities, try removing those front bumper overriders, some (namely me) like the look better without them, and they really functionally do nothing but initiate that same dent farther up the body...

you might try signing up on the yahoogroup: vintagerallyecartel
which is NorCal/SFBay based, but does lots of cool runs up near the gold country.

Welcome. I am targeting the "Snowball Rally" next year, so thinking of getting tow ork on putting my heater back in...
