Miata 1.6 swap?

Hi all

I've been searching the web for weeks on info for a 1.6 swap. I've found 1.8 stuff, but nothing for a 1.6. Does anyone have some advice or know how on the 1.6 swap?

Jon,
Wouldn't the same approach be applicable for the 1.6? The engines are not drastically different.

That's what I was thinking.

I am no mechanic, and I don't weld, so I figured this swap is out of my range. But a known "swapper" here in Las Vegas is saying that the info is insufficient. I figured its not so different to where the info on the 1.8 isn't of help!

at the minumum you will need to
-fabricate motor mounts
-transmission mount
-adapt the wiring harness to support EFI
-radiator/hoses

extras:
-wiring to gauges
-EFI fuel pump
-steering column-friendly exhaust manifold


Both apply to the 1.8/1.6 engines

"known swapper" is bunk if they can't figure this out. You are smarter than them.

Maybe I should just get a friend to fabricate all of the mounts, drop in the drivetrain and take it somewhere to get wired/ finished up
