Drove this twisties with some friences. Chased a couple Roadsters, a couple Miatas and a porsche through the twisties Saturday. It was a great day!

Took a 30 mile rural drive to the Manton Apple Festival on a beautiful day in Northern California. Miles of rock walls with Mt Shasta in the background.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
I think this might be the last outing for the season. That is snow coming down in the pics and some local smaller glaciers as well.
Roadster was running great, this was the longest run I've made since I desmogged it. It has taken me a while to get everything tuned but the adjustments I made prior to this trip seemed to do the trick.
113 miles round trip and getting close to 30mph. Power band was great with super strong pull through 5,000rpm. The engine definitely likes the cooler temps.

Did use some octane boost since 90 octane is the highest I can find up here. Luckily we do have real gasoline and not ethanol.

Had the DROPS Fall pizza meet today.
A Beautiful Northwest day but a low turnout of 6 Roadsters.

Lunch and Wine Tasting
Took a beautiful trip from the humble abode in Nipomo to Los Alamos for lunch at the Bell Street Cafe. The Pork Belly sandwich and the Pastrami sandwich were awesome. Then it was on the Foley Winery on CA 246 for a little tasting. Took Highway 1 home through Vandenberg AFB. 100 miler round trip. The little blue did great. The new carburetors, new EI, and the new exhaust system made the Roadster run, feel and sound great!!
Can't wait for the next one.

BEAUTIFUL warm Fall PNW day today. 10-6-13.
4 of the DROPS folks were out for a drive.
Even a rare appearance from Greg B, (Gregs672000).!
We drove East to the Cascade foothills and up a wonderful 10 mile paved twisty Forest Service road.
Great views and pictures of Mt Rainier with roadsters!
Excellent 190 mile drive for me in Richards 2014 vacation trip white 70 2000 roadster ( I am doing "testing").
Ted.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Another 1000 mile weekend..
Started by watching the new Lexus freeway street sweeper.. This guy was literally driving 85+ on the shoulder..

Lotta desert later, I 40 and Arizona..

Approaching Kingman..

Saturday was cool, clear, kinda windy, and beautiful..

Future Datsun enthusiasts..

Sunset and dinner in the hills.. Beautiful night, but the temps were dropping fast..lol

Sunday morning after an awesome breakfast, lined up to leave Williams and head home..

I 40 west..

Kevin and Denise

Spencer

Carita

Erik

Nice first roadster.. We are all jealous..

Get well soon Chris.. We missed you on this run.. Plus Erik drives your car too slow..

Family obligations kept the rest of the crew on the interstate..

I decided I wanted to see the desert more close up..

Prime real estate.. This house is who knows how old..

Traffic jam in the middle of nowhere..

I wonder how long it will take for this abandoned building to become a part of the desert again..

Getting close to Barstow, back on the interstate.. I tried to stay on 66, but there was 20 miles that the dirt shoulder was smoother than the road, and yes, I drove on both..

Sunset at Victorville..

Home..

Great weekend.. Thanks to all involved including Nostalgic Datsun, the drive home crew, all the friends that it's always fun to run into, the Mayor of Williams, my agent, blah blah blah.. Hope this wasn't too much..

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Ted, you did a great job setting this up for us, very much appreciated! Glad you're able to post some pics too, cause God knows we suck at it! Everyone was great, friendly and true Roadster people. I was hoping and praying we would have a few nice days left, and the Great Northwest sure came through today. And if we can figure it out, we will post some pics from the sunset yesterday... Truly amazing, and perhaps the best I've ever seen. Maybe a few Datsun pics too!ted heaton wrote:BEAUTIFUL warm Fall PNW day today. 10-6-13.
