Tempting.
If you have more info send it. I will hit that website as I did before but as I remember it, there wasn't much info there.

I would be more inclined to join you Fergus for the 2/3 of day 1 part of it as you so mentioned earlier. After Mt Wilson yesterday, and finding 2 missing trans mount bolts (the big one) I don't want any more surprises so don't want to veer too far. Still sounds like fun! Linda you in?

I know what you mean about the tranny mount bolts Tom. Good you caught that. I wonder if it stressed the ujoints?
I think I need to pass. Car needs a little work .Might be fun to be a ride-along, but the real challenge is driving the route.

I really wanted to do this this year but a few things got in the way. But my next Sunday morning is clear so I am planing on joining this group for their send off and driving with them out of town and maybe to the lunch spot (Ojai? I dont have the route.) For those in S. Cal., c'mon, this will be lots of fun! There is no commitment to go further than you want to go and also no reason you cant tag along with the official group; after all we are just driving on public roads. The event starts at Chango Coffee on 10/13 at 9 am ... 1559 N Echo Park Av 90026. Who else is in?

I like your thinking! It would be a good time to see some faces that go with these posts as I have only met 7-8 of them and there are so many more I want to meet.
I don't think I have anything going on next weekend......Let me get clearance and I will let you know. I would be rolling out of Orange County if anyone wants to start from the OC.

I'm leaning that way but also there is a SuperCar Sunday Nissan marquee gathering I just heard about.
Been wanting to do something like this though so.....
Might be able to do the meet then head out to meet the group in La Canada perhaps or if not, then Frazier Park for the lunch stop then on thru Ojai etc.
Let's PM some ideas

First refuel is the AM/PM on Palmdale Blvd.just west of 14. I am guessing 10:15-10:30 or so.
Then a great stretch across the back of Lake "......", then Pine Mntn Road. (epic)
and on thru Gorman (right underneath the 5 fwy) to Fraz Park, probably 11:15.
The town up the hill from Fraz Park is Pine Mntn (Los Pinos?), so if you take the "business turnoff" there is a place called Big John's that is the usual lunch stop. If you miss the turnout and get to the stop sign, take aright, go to main drag, right again, and keep going, it will be on the left.

Cerro Noreste is the usual choice after that, goes out to meet 166 out near Taft.
Left (west)a long 166 (this si the boring part) you can go left and drop back into Ojai on 133, this is a nice loop that keeps you within AAA towing distance at all times (not necessarily cell phone tower distances, but that is improving)

166 west is the long straight boring stretch, but then just short of Santa Maria is the left onto Tepesquet Canyon (2pm or so?) and this is another epic road, twisties all the way back to Solvang.

While I don't want to spend all day on the phone, feel free to PM me a email address and I'll send my cell phone and help out with meet-ups as possible. (I tend to drive at the pace that I have both hands full, if you know what I mean)
Leave a message even if I don't pick up.

The more the merrier, glad to see old and new faces.
these roads will put a smile on them for sure.

Where again is the starting location of this event? Chango Coffee at 9am? Just trying to confirm if I can make the run. Thanks, Fergus. Will the gang be heading up 2 north and then onto Angeles Crest Hywy? I can hook up with you all there.

Tom,
I'm shooting for Frazier Park at 1030ish to meet the group as they arrive from Angeles Crest/Plamdale/Gorman. then do the middle 1/3 of the day from Frazier Park-Ojai- wherever then head back via highway or backroads depending on time. Others may have more time.
Maybe a call from Fergus or vice versa to dial in the time better once they are underway will be nice, but I am content to hang out and wait in Frazier Park. Anyone else want to do the same, PM me for meeting point info.
Glad to be able to drive in some of these places I normally wouldn't. :)
