Re: which type wheel is this
I like the gunmetal grey centers, it really changes the wheel.

Did you have the aluminum center put on a different rim or is that still the original steel?

Re: which type wheel is this
I have the same wheels, but I just painted them. I blasted off the rusty chrome then used a self etching primer before painting them with rattle cans of Wheel paint followed by a coat of clear.
Does anyone know where I might find a set of lug nuts for these?
Also, I could use new center caps if anyone knows where I could find some.

I bought them in Holland but the are really American, it was something of 7/16 x 20, but the size of the hole in the rim is also important , you can get them with 0685 or .680, you have to measure them. it depend also if you use a widener behind your wheels.

For lugs, you need the ID of the hole and the thickness of the mounting flange then just check the catalog, McGuard is a good brand, Bandit is cheap and good.Copterpilot wrote:I have the same wheels, but I just painted them. For centercaps, need diameter of the hole and if you need push in, which has a small lip on the outside of the hole for the cap to grip or push through which is a hole bored straight through same diameter.
If you get these sizes, can find something.

Re: which type wheel is this
I have found the correct lug nuts and they look pretty decent on the car. Has anyone found center hub covers that fit these wheels? Peter?

Re: which type wheel is this
Once you know the diameter of the center hole, it's easy to find caps.

Re: which type wheel is this
The center caps I've found that we're close we're 2.8" (too loose) and 2.95" (wouldn't fit in). Bought both online and now have to try to return them. I'm thinking that I need something around 2.9".dbrick wrote:Once you know the diameter of the center hole, it's easy to find caps.
Peter, thanks for the recommendation. I'll try to get ahold of that company after the weekend to see if they have anything that will work.

I have a complete set of those wheels with lug nuts and center caps that I am not using. The center caps go on from behind the wheel. They are chromed metal with a 1/4-20 thread nutplate welded in the end for an emblem or maybe a spinner cap.

Looks like maybe a Fenton or Micky Thompson center cap is what I have on my wheels. Guess now I will have to find some spinners for them.

There are plenty of spinner options on eBay. I like the 2 ear.

Re: which type wheel is this
Those look great in gunmetal!
I have often thought that finding center caps should be relatively easy but it looks like there is enough minor variance to make it hard.
Kind of hate to ask, but were there some wheels that had steel rims and aluminum centers that were deemed dangerous?
