Neat! Kind of like this weird little truck I see driving around here all the time... Looks a bit like that van if you cut the back out into a truck box. Not sure of the make.

What you are probably seeing is a Daihatsu Hijet.

Yeah that looks like the one, although this one is covered in stickers and driven by an old hippie.

They are very cool! 4x4 diesel available in that platform. The sides fold completely down making it a flatbed. I would love to have one as a hunting buggy, but don't have a place that I can use it on a regular basis, and they aren't street legal here - some states they are.

That weird little truck could be the vans sibling, the Sambar pickup.

If you ever get to check out one of those Hijets, they are awesome! Some of the rednecks down here put the 4x4 golf cart wheels on them and trick them out.
