Original rims?

Post by mitch_04 »

Maybe I'm looking right at it, but I can't find what the stock rims for a 1970 Datsun 2000 look like. Can anyone help me out? Also, are they easy to find/buy or...?

Also it depends on where you are located, I know they are very easy to find in California.

I have a set that I would sell. They are in nice shape. I would have to check the stamp to make sure they weren't from an early car though.

Yes they have the hub caps but are in daily driver condition. They shine up good but have some scratches ect.. The rims themselves are a medium grey the last PO painted them. I will take a couple pics tonight and send them to you.

Sounds good, I'm planning on putting my old rims for sale on here to see if someone wants them. Not ugly rims, just would like original ones. What price were you thinking?

I was looking at $300 plus shipping for all 4 wheels and hubcaps.

If you could get me some pics and a shipping quote to South Dakota zip 57369 that would be wonderful. Mostly want pics of the hubcaps, as long as the rims are straight and not significantly rusted/beat up I'm very interested.

That's another great thing about these cars, shipping rims is a lot easier!!! Stack 'em up and you have a 14x18" box, much simpler than when I'm going to buy 22's for my other project...

I will have time tomorrow to snap a few pics and send them to you. As for shipping I will see what Greyhound wants as they are the cheapest to use when sending large and/or heavy packages. I think it will be too big for the USPS but I will check.

Sounds good, even UPS or FedEx would work if Greyhound wouldn't. I've never used Greyhound before, do I have to go to a bus station or...?

No no pick up at the bus station, they will drop off at your residence. I was running all day so I didn't get a shipping quote yet but here are some pics for the hubcaps and rims. Three of the hubcaps have some dull scratches and the fourth has some minor pitting. I will have the tires dismounted prior to shipping of course. I will look into shipping prices tomorrow.

Still very interested, hopefully shipping isn't unbelievable. Just curious, have you ever tried to clean up the hupcaps other than washing?
