So biting the bullet and have sent off my seat belts to Ssnake-Oyl for re-webbing. I sent them two sets to mix and match. One question came up.... The buckle is chrome with a texture section in the center on one end. One of my belts had that texture section painted while the other one left it "natural".
What is original here?
Also, has anybody found a source for the webbing of the luggage straps?
Thanks!
Mark

Mine are painted....not sure what is "original". If the seat belts are like other parts, Datsunused what they had in inventory...

Best as I know - the textured surface was painted black (suggestion might be to have the whole buckle coated - then polish away the bits over the chrome.

From the best ones I've seen, I would say the center was painted in a gray hammerite-type paint. Could have been black and faded.
