Anyone know how to bench test a wiper motor??

I'm interested in this and (not to hijack, but...) how to bench test a heater fan. It has two wires that I assume are the power supply.

I don't know if there's an official or right way, but I would hook up a 12-volt DC power supply with a switch and test away. Kinda one of those it either works or don't things. 8)

I know the early one has a blue and a black wire, blue is (+) and black is of course (-), although I have never messed with a high windshield car so I dont know how the high one changed or if it is the same or similar.
