Front wheel offset for a '67 1600
Hi, I'm looking to run either 15x7 or 16x7 wheels with 195/50 or 205/50 tires. How much less space does a '67 have compared to later cars? I don't mind rolling the fender lips if that will help but don't really want to have to flare the arches.
What sort of offset should I be looking for - something like +20? I like the way the 16" Panasports fit on the silver car on the last page of Alvin's thread - it says they are +11 but how much more offset would I need to get a similar look with the smaller arches?
Thanks

The stock offset I believe was a +15. I am running a +12 set of Rota's and they stick out just a bit more than stock.

The silver car has spring perch mods, late model flares, 195/50/16 tires on 16x7 wheels.
I don't recall if '66 have even smaller flares than '67 but I can post a few pics of Panasports on these cars tonight to give you an idea. In general, early flares really don't help "cover" wider wheels/tires.

Is your car lowered? Do you have any pics - ideally front head on?zippy67roadster wrote:The stock offset I believe was a +15. I am running a +12 set of Rota's and they stick out just a bit more than stock.

Pics of early cars would be great, thanks.

^Brian's car:

as you can see, even +15 15x6 panasports with the right tire easily clear the early flare:

14" libras on early flare:

I'll have more examples later

Thanks Alvin. You got them up faster than I could even see the question! LOL.

66 and early 67 fender flares are the same smaller size. 67.5 and later flares are the same bigger size. I have seen at least one 67.5 that appears to have been delivered with early flares front and back - very low VIN on that car.

Re: Front wheel offset for a '67 1600
Happy to help Alvin! Technically, the 65 - 67 flare is the intermediate. The 1500 flare is tiny by comparison.

Re: Front wheel offset for a '67 1600

I think your best bet is to try a 15x6 +20 or higher offset, use a spacer/negative camber

Re: Front wheel offset for a '67 1600
Thanks for the replies, looks like I wheel need at least +20 to tuck the wheels as much as I'd like. Do you know what size/offset the wheels on the green car are?

Re: Front wheel offset for a '67 1600
I´m in the same situation.
I have the 70`s fenders and want to put Equip 03 Style wheels (Drag DR20) on my roadster.
But the wheels are only availible with +/-0 Offset with 114,3mm bolt pattern [EDIT: on a 7x15 rim]
Could the wheels fit in the front?
@Alvin:
Which offset had the original Equip 03 in your "Got JDM Wheels on Your Datsun?" post on Zcarblog.com?
Which Fenders do you have?
Thanks & sorry for threadjack OC67

Re: Front wheel offset for a '67 1600
We reccomend a 15x6 +24 for all Roadsters and a 15x7 +18 for the 67.5 and later.
and have sold 16x7 +12 Classic 8's to one customer who liked them so well he bought a second set.
We have several customers who have been so satisfied with the quality of VTO wheels that they have come back to buy more.

I do like the Le Mans wheel - do you know if there are any clearance issues with the Altima rotor/Volvo caliper conversion?
