@Linda- I confess, on the console all I did was clean and paint the metal parts. The console was in really bad shape, with chunks of vinyl and foam missing. I got an initial quote from Just Dashes -- $450-600 depending on the actual condition. Crazy. So instead took it to my upholstery shop who patched up the missing chunks, made a new lid, and stretched new vinyl over all for $150.

@SPL310 - That's Dean's kit. Packages say made by Distinctive Industries.

This weekend I:
Cleaned up my wiring for the electric fan. It was a mess from the PO. It looked so good mg GF even noticed it.
* fixed my passenger door not being able to open from the outside
* attempted to install my Mercedes K&N filter but my idea failed for extending the mounting rods. Need some new ideas.
* added a 30 amp fuse inline with my alternator.
* installed the cowl hose, used an Armor-All type spray on it to make it real slippery
* removed the heater core I got from Leigh Brooks. I want to have it clean and tested. Thanks Leigh!
* installed the hand throttle and replaced it's cable
* replaced the throttle cable
* rebalanced my carbs

re k&n filter - get some tubing from truevalue and tap it perhaps (if I understand what you are trying to achieve)

spent a good chunk of the day on Saturday claybarring.

Here's half the hood done to show how bad the oxidation/overspray/whatever it was to make it feel like matte paper.

came out nice and smooth...and feels like car paint again! :lol:
