missing nylon peices

Post by Dustin »

So would'nt ya know, i'm missing parts. The little nylon bushings that sit in bottom of the su domes, under the spring, white with a hole in the center to go around the oil tube.. I remember seeing these when i first took my carbs apart over a year ago. I have since then dissassembled, cleaned, tuned, and obviously neglected them since these parts are nowhere to be found. Is there anything I can use in place of these things? Or does anyone know where I can source them as I can't seem to find them from my usual sources. For what it's worth, my car is running better than ever. can't wait to see how it does with all the bits and peices.

Someone more knowledgeable may correct me, but I think you'll be fine without those pieces provided you have seated your needles correctly without the nylon bits. I think you can get away with nylon pieces on both carbs or absent on both, but you wouldn't want to have one on one carb and not the other.

I believe Conner is correct-both in or both missing but not one without the other. Keith would be able to answer you correctly. He may even have a part number or the parts themselves. He can be reached at keith0alan@aol.com Super nice guy and does an excellent job rebuilding SUs in his spare time. He is not a member of this forum.
