Insuring A Race Car

Post by Steve49841 »

I have been thinking about insuring the race car for some time so I talked to my agent. For $100 bucks a year I picked up $10K on the Roadster for off track stuff like theft and fire, flood etc. Another $50 gets $10K on the trailer and everything inside. My agent has been selling insurance for 31 years, he said I was the first guy to walk into his office and ask to insure a race car. Which leads me to believe most guys don't, but when you consider up how much you have invested in your car and rig, it can add up to some serious money. He put me with Hagerty Insurance, the classic car insurance company. Something to think about.....Steve

Haggerty is a great company for a classic car. I sell to insurance agents, and have been in the business for about 33 years. You're not going to find insurance for the track unless you are a professional, and have certain levels of certification. Lloyd's of London is the only company I know that offers any type of race coverage.
