undid all connections - in preparation for removing engine (AGAIN) - hope to have it out today or tomorrow. Then ANOTHER new tranny seal and hopefully back in Eliza by the weekend. Then I have to work on the brakes (sigh!)

My little SP310 has been shifted to another Body Shop.
Due to a lack of hands and a looming deadline, the car is now going to be beaten into shape by Scott at Kustom Bodyworks.
Once he has everything in roadster shape, we will shift her back to Warehouse 27 for the painting.
Travis, from Warehouse 27, has offered to set me up with his kit, give me instructions an let me paint it MYSELF!
Material cost only :)
That is going to be a HOOT!
If I can shoot the colour to his standard, I will be able to say, "I did that!"
I am looking forward to the experience and sincerely hope I get it right!
Nissanman, just trying to help.

Getting to say "I did that" is way better than paying someone else to do it. my plan is to do everything I can myself. I don't have a machine or Chrome shop but I think I can handle everything else. It may not win any

awards but in my opinion the best reward is being able to say "I did that". Mike

Today I patched the drivers side; floor board frame mount, rocker panel in front of rear tire and quarter size hole just behind the rear wheel, yesterday I did the same on the passenger side. Tomorrow I will make two patch panels for the front fenders.........SR20DE and 5 speed will be delivered on Friday.

It will be thicker, require more watering and will be harder to mow....

If you put enough paint on it and avoid gigantic runs, wet sanding and buffing will be your friend. You can take an orange peeled mess and turn it into a mirror finish. I agree, there is nothing like saying "I did that" even when it's not perfect. Enjoy!

OK I didn't get the patch panels made for the front fenders but I did pull the motor and tranny off the frame so I can be ready for the motor mount kit. Pulled the rest of the wiring harness, heater and wiper assembly off the body. I spent another 3 hours or so scraping tar, grease and undercoating off the bottom of the car. A one inch wide chisle sharpened every half hour made the job fairly easy.

It is a great past time isn't it?
One consolation you have is that if there is a coating of oil/grease on the underside then it is unlikely to be corroded underneath it :)

took her in for a new exhaust from the header back. I'm going to miss breathing those fumes-not!
Put the new pipe in and started it up- damn, header gasket leaks :(

I put down the top and drove it to work, sunny and 73 degrees, it's hard to believe a week ago I was shoveling snow and had 5 foot high piles on the side of my driveway.

An added bonus is when something goes bad (and it will) you will have a better idea of what it is and how to fix it.

Today I got in the mail a reground camshaft for my U20. It is a Rebello regrind with 480 lift with about 270 dura for a mild street build. I think it will complement my quad carbs nicely. Not quite the B cam in dura, so I won't sacrifice too much cylinder pressure but give me more go all the way. It's a stock motor. Woohoo.
