Hey Graeme,

My roadster has been off the road only for about 12-months at the moment. I used to use it as fairly regular (at least weekly) transport in Sydney but since moving back to Adelaide it has been sitting at my parents house as my house doesn't have a garage - plans are afoot to bring it to my house though but I have an electrical gremlin at present that I am trying to track down. My car is road registered and drivable (although rough and in need of some body work) - but I won't take it up to the Nationals, however I do intend to head up to the Barossa for a look see. What is the local Roadster club here in Adelaide? I haven't joined a local one yet but used to be a member of DSOA when in Sydney.

Hi folks :smt006
On Friday my Body Shop man, Travis, picked up the '65 shell and all panels to begin the journey of resurrection.
The body and parts will be getting the Minus Paint process for the next 3 or so weeks to strip all remaining paint, sealers and rust from the panels.
http://www.minuspaint.com.au/
Then she moves to new home not far from me to undergo the body restoration.
I have been working on the rust repairs for just over 10 years and now we move up a gear :D
I know I won't get any prize for taking this much time over the job but there were other priorities along the way, as life is want to throw at you
Anyhoo, here are a couple of pics. of the historic moment.
The parts were loaded into the BIGGEST covered car trailer I have EVER seen: -

I was so preoccupied that I didn't take any pictures but my son rolled up at the critical moment and snapped off a few.
I guess he was as excited as I was
I went through my boxes of Fairlady bits yesterday and below and hold, I have 99.99% of the parts I need to re-build her 8)
Travis said I'm welcome to go to the Shop and help out as much as I want to save his man hours.
That is exactly the arrangement I was hoping for :)
Stay tuned to my ShutterFly album for further updates: -

HOOOOOORAY :D :D
My Fairlady is out of Intensive Care and back on the rotisserie: -

There are a few happy snaps of the body and panels back at the paint shop on my album site after spending 4 weeks at the Minus Paint facility: -
http://nissanman.shutterfly.com/117
starting at pic. #565.
My body man, Travis, is going to create a "Build in Progress" on his business website to document his work on the restoration.
When that gets up and running, I'll post the relevant linky.
Estimated time of completion is end of May 2013.
That gives me 3-4 months to assemble and road test the beast.
That will be during our winter so it won't be ideal driving weather :|

Some progress!
Travis at Kustom Bodyworks has started on my SP310.
Today he welded on the two hand shaped replacement sill panels that moi spent freakin' hours on to make them fit.
Because the sills are not straight from front to rear, I had to coax a compound curve in the metal where the sill mates with the front and rear end caps.
They look GREAT :D

Scott has also cut and shaped the jack holes to accept the OEM plugs.

The old girl is getting stronger all the time and that light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter!
