240z break drums
How much backing plate would need to be cut to accommodate the 240z drums on an early roadster? I was thinking of getting some because mine are scored pretty bad and was just wondering if it's less of a hassle than finding the original drums.

Basically, the outer lip needs to be trimmed to accomodate the aluminum drums. There is some question about how well the 240Z brake drums fit. Someone on the forum put them on their car, so it can be done.
BTW, I have some 240Z brake drums on eBay right now. They end in just a few hours.

I'm using the 240z drums (Brembro) with axle hub adapter plate as shown in the album picture section.
(Adapter plate drawing is located in the technical brake section).
No modifications to the backing plates was required for my late roadster.
Quite happy with this arrangement.
Someone mentioned in one post that the early backing plates could be swapped out to later ones to accomodate the alum drums.
