Roll bar wrap

Post by Gregs672000 »

i have a nice zippered wrap for the top half of the bar, but have not found anything for where the supports connect, or the other legs of the bar if you will. What have others done to wrap their bar? I have black high density foam on it now, needs to be replaced at the least but woild like to have it then covered in vinyl.

Why not stitch up your own wrap. Can't be that hard.

Is the purpose of this wrapping to protect your head if you smack it? I mean like padded wrapping?

I had a vinyl cover on my Jeep. It was sewn in one piece, with a bunch of zippers, the foam went on first then the cover zipped on. You could probably lay one out pretty easily, width is constant, getting the zippers sewn in will need some talent. The bags are cool too, hide speakers in them? :D

Jegs and other places sell preformed semi rigid foam padding that just goes on the side facing the passenger, might work too

Mine had Velcro IMHO, looks better than a zipper and much easier.

Very nice, and likely a hand done work by someone who has some professional or good upholstery skills. You can see now they worked around the split. That is really the issue. Guess they don't make parts mass produced that are designed specifically for that area of the bar. That's kinda what I was looking for. I may just replace the old foam with new foam. The top half of the bar is wrapped and looks decent enough. I would consider pulling the bar out and having it done but honestly I've got enough car work on my hands. I know the ol "while I'm in there" trap all too well! May be a job for next winter.
