Some changes to Shasta this year
I thought you guys might like to know about some changes to the Mt. shasta meet. I saw Dave today and talked for a while. It looks like the show and shine will be held in downtown this year enstead of out in the park. Which sounds awesome to me, my wife wont be quite so bored this year. Also dave is going to change the registration classes slightly and add two classes for non roadsters. Ted is running the poker run. Of which i am a honorary low hand winner! and its july 12 and 13th this year. Hope everybody can make it

Any autocross or track day included? Its way to long and hot of a drive to go for a show and shine.

I don't think there is going to be autocross this year. We didn't talk about that at all

I think the parking lot at the park has speed bumps. An autoX downtown.... hahahaha. Might be interestingGarm wrote:I can bring some cones, Will. got it covered.

Re: Some changes to Shasta this year
I just stumbled across this video, but if something like this could be put together, yeah, I'd be at Shasta every year. " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;!
I miss the show as well. Spending 5 hours each way melting my shoe to the transmission tunnel however is not fun. If there is a track day and some autox action, yeah I'll deal with the misery of dehydration and a burned left foot to come out and play.

Will,
98 was the first year I attended Shasta. I didnt know what to expect and I didnt know there were two shows. I went to the roadster show in the morning and the All Datsun show in the afternoon. It was a blast.....

Re: Some changes to Shasta this year
2003 was my first year at Shasta. I was blown away, Datsuns EVERYWHERE! 510s, Zs, Roadsters, you name it. We went to the roadster show down the hill, checked it out and then headed up the hill. The All Datsun meet was where it was at. The Roadster show was cool, but it was like Solvang and after looking all the cars over, it was boring. Up the hill however was great. A car show, vendor area, and an autocross, all at the same time. There must have been 150 cars at least. I didn't learn about the track day at Thunderhill till 2005.
Show and shines are cool for about 3 hours, after that it gets old very quickly.
