Hello great site with lots of info.
I have loved the Datsun Roadster since my friend had one back in high school, little car was quick only had two seats and no Lucas wiring. Well after learning about them I spent many weeks looking for a 2L and once I found one and had to get the bank of dad to help finace the whole thing. Well he had to give me the story of how unsafe and rusty the Datsuns are and that 2 thousand 2 hundred was way to mutch for said car. Well that kinda put that loan on hold.
Well, put on hold for a short time but I did find the money and bought the car 30 years ago. With great idea's on cutting rear flares into it and building a track car. So with little idea I took the car apart to zoop up (in dads garage / lol) well I did get over my head, the car spent most of its days with me apart, the local road track closed so I got into cutting up a 69 dart and been drag racing that for the last 20 years.
Oh ya the Datsun has been moving with me for the last 30 years and along the way I have tried to do something every year to/for it. I'm really close now to actually bolting it back together, the body shell is going for paint this month and on its return I wil be able to start installing the hords of parts that are stashed in all corners of the house. Looking at the prices on some of the parts out there its no surprize that its been a long journey collecting these items and raising a family. But soon the dream of driving my 68 SRL311-001749 solex (matching # incl. block) will be reached. I'm also happy to report that I never did cut any part on it or modify it to far.
Will try and get some pics up, cause it aint a real storytime without them.
Thanks G.

This is where you test your memory.
"I know I took that part off in 1985, let's see if I can remember how to put it back on."
This is the best place for memory support. Welcome.

Re: newb
Yes memorie will be on full power to remember, lucky for me it has all been cleaned and painted before I boxed the parts away. I also restore and customize cars so that "may" help. I tell some of my customers about my Datsun but not many will listen to long as I can see there minds wonder away. Can't wait for the day when I can show them old Corvettes the back end of my car "eat my dust".
At this point I would like to thank the red roadster that will appear out of no-were, you know when to show at the right time and always top down.
