Re: Garm's 1969 project
Exciting, even at low break-in rpms! I fall into the break 'em in hard camp once I've established she is not making any bad sounds and the first oil change is done (250 miles or so) but everyone is different on this. I don't stomp on it, but keep bringing it higher and higher in the rpms until I am reaching redline. I figure that if everything was put together right and I've checked and adjusted as needed there is no sense in babying it... If it's going to come apart it's going to come apart!
Happy days!

Re: Garm's 1969 project
Thanks Greg! I'm somewhere between you and Will on my break-in. Definitely not hitting hard yet.
Here's another vid for you.
My "problem" is I have a 3 mile commute (I know, GREAT problem to have) so I only have very early mornings to put on the miles.
Can't let a little rain stop me...

Did you take off the windsheild wipers to lighten the car?LOL
True, usually don't need 'em

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

I figure I don't have a top, so its unlikely I'll need wipers. Except for this morning. :-/

Hah! On a highscreen car you can stay pretty dry in the rain provided you drive fast enough.

Will trade guitars for roadsters, food, shelter, clothes, etc, etc.

Re: Garm's 1969 project
Great to see it on the road!
I can say from experience, top down, 6'2", low windshield, new seat straps and towing a trailer, (which screws with the airflow) you get totally SOAKED from the ears up. I ended up slouching way down for 35 miles on the PA Turnpike.RFR wrote:Hah! On a highscreen car you can stay pretty dry in the rain provided you drive fast enough.

Re: Garm's 1969 project
When I bought my high windshield, it had no top, and I drove 110 miles in downpour to get it home. I'm 6'2", and I stayed dry as long as I was moving over 55mph. Gotta love it! You should have seen the looks I got on the way!
