Pretty interesting adaptation! Are those Nexia calipers better than the stock ones, or just cheaper?

those calipers are from a European Daewoo Nexia (daewoo is now chevrolet, the latest Opel Kadett E is a look a like Nexia, so all GM products).
we bought a calliper set on the scrapyard for 40 euro (incl. almost new brake pads)
the why:
it fits easily with minor modifications (make discs smaller, dustplate adjustment, other bolts, adjustment on caliper)
it has more stopping power
i can use my 14 inch rims (with new tires)
it is easily to find here the parts (roadster parts hard to get here and expensive sending it over the sea, (21%import tax, etc.))
brakepads are new cheap and easy to get at autopart supply shops
original masterbrakecylinder can handle the braking by itself, but we also want to use another masterbrake cylinder but has to be cheap, try to use it with a booster (more later)
CHEAPER SOLUTION, (Dutch, huh)
why not 300ZX twinturbo:
expensive, used good ones about 200 euro (incl discs), new even more expensive
had to make/or buy an adaptorplate
also need to renew the brake discs
only 15 inch rims will fit (or bigger)
we don't need that much stopping power because we use it on the street not circuit.
also need a bigger masterbrake cylinder

Does anyone know what the US equivalent to that caliper is?

it should look like this

it is also named Daewoo Cielo
"DAEWOO Cielo/Nexia (1994 - 1997) Description & History: The Cielo/Nexia was a compact sedan based on the old Daewoo LeMans, which in turn was a rebadged Opel Kadett E. The main changes from the Opel version was a front and rear extensive design modification, but other than that the cars were pretty much identical.

Henk made a try out setup to see if the masterbrakecylinder with the booster, both from the suzuki alto, could handle the needed brakefluid displacement. Used 300zx turbo vacuumpump and jumperstarter to create vacuum on the booster.
It seems to work good! (front and rear)

some more pictures of the frontbrakes, brakepads temporary placed, still need some mod's

new dash clocks from classic instruments arrived...yieha, can't wait to install them in the dash

it's great to see KPH (KM/h) instead of MP/h could save a lot of speedtickets

Very interesting. Do you have room between the manifolds and firewall to install the booster? If so that is a great upgrade!

we think it wil, the space in the firewall should be made a little bit wider and the hole in the firewall must be made in the center for good fitment of the brakebooster.

booster will fit, maybe lower reservoir needed.

rechromed parts

radiator Del Sol in place

don't forget space clearance for steering linkage

brackets made on the chassis/frame

Re: SR20DE NA S-spec into a 67.5 "1600" in the netherlands
We have been busy with the brake conversion. At first we wanted to mount the original Roadster brakedisc, shortened in diameter, with a Daewoo Nubira brakecaliper with new brakepads from brembo. Than use from the old brakepads the metal backplates and weld these on the metal backplates from the new brakepads. To fill up the space between the brakedisc and the caliper. (the system works, there are a few roadsters in The Netherlands who brake this way).
BUT, Henk was not charmed of it and wanted vented discs. So he spended 6 hours searching for the right discs to fit on the hub of the roadster.
SO NOW we have used the Nissan Primera P11 ventilated brakediscs, we made the diameter 270mm (instead of 280mm). We made the Roadster hub at the backside 4mm shorter. We used still the Daewoo Nubira calipers and brakepads. The brakecaliper bolts should be shortened (3 washers are to many).
We want to use also the masterbrakecylinder and brakebooster from the Suzuki Alto and its brake pressureregulator.
Here some pic's
left Brembo pads, right Nipparts

Nissan Primera P11 ventilated brake disc. made diameter smaller from 280 to 270mm. Perfect fit now on the hub from the roadster. The hub is also shortened at the backside. We let cut off 4mm.

these UNF bolts need to be shortened (or use washers)

brake caliper should be a little bit shaved off for a mm more space in the original steel wheel

nice fit in the alloy 14" rims we want to use

Re: SR20DE NA S-spec into a 67.5 "1600" in the netherlands
The exhaust is mode from RVS, we ordered parts to build our own exhaust pipe
We used the Primera P11 exhaust manifold with its first flange of the exhaust pipe. The rest is not necesssary because it is a front wheel drive and you can not install that.
after that flange we made a 2 in 1 pipe than a 90 degree piece, a flexible piece and than some more pipe, a "muffler", more pipe and a bended pipe over the rearaxle (which neede in the corner a straight pipe to fit nicer), a rear muffler and a nice endpipe to polish.
