Brought it home today!

Post by Munxcub »

Went and picked up my '64 1500 today with my dad. Pretty excited to get started on it. I will try not to bombard you all with a ton of stupid questions. heh

Looks like a great project. let the questions fly! There are quite a few 1500 experts here. (Not me!)
"When all else fails, force prevails!" Ummm, we're gonna need a bigger hammer here.

She looks nice. Sideways rear seat? Is that a spare motor in the back of the truck?

No third seat in the back. And yes it has a spare 1600 Engine. The 1500 engine is completely taken apart and needs serious cleaning up but looks complete.

the flat dash of the 1500 is quite different from the 65-67 which has 7 instruments (and 67.5 which has 5 holes) as it has four almost equal instruments. I have all three dashes in stock. I am parting out my 11 SPL310 (two are the 65 1500 with later 65-67 dash).

Ross,

Once I have the frame all cleaned up and recoated, and am ready to start reassembling stuff, I will be giving you a call about converting the drums to disc brakes.

Good luck on the project, Were are you located in Saskachawan? Looked at that car a year ago, just didn't need any more projects. If you change to disc brakes you will need to change the fenders for the larger 14" wheels. Then the car will not look like a 65 with the chrome side trim stopping at the fender flair.Think I would stay with the drum brakes.

I am in North Battleford. I was going to look at whether or not I could find lower profile tires that would wind up the same size around the outside.
