I don't know about the rest of you folks out there, but I for one check this forum several times each day. It has proven itself to be an invaluable source of information and in general is fun. I think that it was Pete Peters who said that his significant other referred to it as "roadster porn."
I was wondering what the general attitide would be to voluntarily reward our moderator/webmaster with a cash donation. I'm in favor of it, but do not know if I am in the minority or majority. What's your opinion?

If you would look at Steve's other post he has come up with a way for you to contribute simply by purchasing some Datsun shirts and hats he had made up.
Take a look, its a lot easier than deciding how much cash to give, before you know it Steve would be getting all this cash above and beyond the site's requirements and we would have to 1099 him!

I'd have no problem in contributing. Running a PHP forum is costly in time and equipment. If your not hosting on someone else's server, your upgrading your own to keep up with the traffic. Drivespace is not as costly as it was, but the need escalates with usage. even hosted, you can run into trouble when your needs surpass the host's capabilities.
As this site takes off, and it will, it will need more resources and labor.
My regular haunt - http://www.classiczcars.com is a monster of a PHP forum. There, we have merchandising, one-time paypal contributions and monthly paypal subscriptions. And we need it! Server upgrades and long hours of debugging PHP scripts is necessary in an environment that dynamic.
My suggestion is to offer one-time paypal donations and $10.00 monthly paypal automated subscriptions. If you don't need it now... You will later.

RE:Website Contributions
There has never been nor will there ever be a monthly subscription fee. I do this in my spare time as a hobby. If anyone wants to help out one way or another either by buying something from the store, offering a helping hand or cash--great. If not I will go until it starts costing me what I feel in too much of my time and money. There are 400 plus registered users with a core group of 30 to 40 that really use it. That is a lot more than I ever thought would participate. It is a hobby with a car I have grown rather fond of and a great group of people from different places and backgrounds. We all have one thing in common--Datsun Roadsters! Use the forum and enjoy it as it is as free as you want it to be.
