U20 Timing Chain (Alternate Part Numbers)

Post by Speedyshel »

While doing my research when I was rebuilding my motor, I found these and wanted to share them as a matter of interest. These are continuous chains with no master-link just like the originals.
I know some might say you get what you pay for, but here are the part numbers for those who maybe might be interested in them.
These parts listed below are exact chains for a U20 motor.

BECK/ARNLEY Part # 0240226 (Lower)
BECK/ARNLEY Part # 0240317 (Upper)
CLOYES Part # 94027 (Upper chain)
CLOYES Part # 94054 (Lower chain)
Autozone Part # 9-4027 (Duralast brand - very very affordable online) - Upper chain
Autozone Part # 9-4054 (Duralast brand - very very affordable online) - Lower chain

Nice....now if only I could find the gears for cheap.

Dave: that's not what most people would consider a good price. It's the lowest price out there but it's still a lot of money to most ppl ;-)

Considering you can sometimes get the whole car for that price. Before I started my resto I had a guy wanting to buy my car. He asked if there were problems with them I said do some research on getting parts and check out the cost of a new timing gear set before you take the plunge (i didn't want to sell but his $ was right) he drove up a week later in a vette

Thanks,
I just emailed him and asked if he had just the upper gear set still @ $345. Hope he will sell it without the chain as I already bought that.

Are these the Nissan gears, or aftermarket gears? There were a couple of vendors selling aftermarket gears at one point. One seems to take pride in deriding non-Nissan parts offered by other vendors which I always thought was poor marketing. Of course, the same vendor has nothing but praise for the non-Nissan parts sold by their own site.
