new member from Miami
Hi everybody, I am a new member from Miami,FL. I am a roadster and 240Z fanatic. I was really lucky in 2010 and won the bid on a 68 SRL311 U20 with facory Solex Japan Mikuni 44phh with B cam and 7qt Alum race oil pan with original 62k miles. It came with new tan leather seats and door panels with a gorgeous high gloss gold color with Silver 18" Tenzo R rims and a new good quality soft top. I drove it every morning before work as "stress therapy" and trust me it works and I go to work energized. I am happy to finally join the Datsun Sports Roadster family as a member.
Looking forward to some good tips and advice from all of the expert members. I will post a few pics after I get more comfortable and learn how to navigate the forum site.

Re: new member from Miami
Well guys sorry for the delay on the pics ! As a Dinosaur I needed help in the upload process. (tks to 67datroad) As you can see she does not look too bad with the Tan Leather interior to match the body color. The 18" fit ferfect without rubbing when turning or rolling the rear fenders and I still have half inch clearance. The shocks are still the original factor performance shocks and still work as new. I wish the front was a bit lower to match the rear so maybe a new set of lower springs will do without touching th rear since it can not be any lower (rear pic) Dean is sending me the performance Header kit and the EI kit which is a must cause I am a bit tired of the Points ! I still need to fix the radio but since I do not have any electrical experience or knowledge I keep putting that off until I can find a trustworthy shop down here to work on my golden nugget. I cant wait to get her back on the road and take her on her regular Lunch cruise with the wife to Key West and South Beach regularly as we used to. I was pulled over a couple of times by FHP cruising at 90 but got off the hook after they spent about 30 mnts admiring and asking questions about it and were amazed that she could cruise that fast for her age ! Ha! 90 is slow for her ! Now that we are almost at the end of Hurricane and rainy season its time to gat her ready for the beautiful fall december weather coming up cause I never drive with the top up or drive it in the rain. (nobody knows how to drive in the rain down here ! its scary! hell they cant drive when its dry !)
I am very interested in installing a set of Hard Dog Deuce Polished Stainless Roll Bars but unfortunatley they are made to fit the Miata. I spoke to Tom the owner who said he was going to send me the measurements to see how I can have them modified the fit. They are not cheap but boy they look good a la Cobra style.
I will try to upload more pics later.

Re: new member from Miami
Hey guys,
I would like to upgrade the brakes cause the OEM calipers are the worst I have ever had in any vehicle and my pads are new. My master cylinder is working fine and I have fresh brake fluid DOT 3 which confirms the poor perfprmance of the OEM calipers. I see that a lot of guys are swapping for the Volvo 240 Cardone dual pistons calipers which sounds like the solution but what about the rears? I would like to convert the drums to Disc also so has anybody done it with the same Volvo calipers? the dream brakes would be the Willwood package but that would be a very costly upgrade for the set of 4 ! I just received my Performance Header from Dean and soon I will receive the EI kit with the Coil and sillicone wire set which should keep me going for a while until I install the Hard Dog Deuce Polished Stainless Bars.
What brand and model caliper kit do you guys recommend for the rear? cause I want her to stop as fast and smooth as she cruises !
I cant wait to have all the goodies installed so I can take a cruise up north and visit the Eastcoaster club members cause I am the only Roadster down in Miami besides another fanatic named Joe who has a very nice and fast Black 67 that I have not seen for about 2 years. I need to get together with him and start a South Miami Roadster Club (SMRC) and invite you guys down to taste our famous Mojito !

Hey Bill
Nice pictures, can you provide a full side profile to better show the rims?
Where did those seats come from, they don't look Roadster.
Very nice looking car - but still need more pictures!!

Re: new member from Miami
Stock brakes work great if in good shape. If yours are not working well, you either have stuck caliper pistons, under wear limit rotors, or more.

Thanks a lot Roadster Guru, that means I need to take them apart and make sure they are not stuck like you said. A caliper rebuilt kit with fresh fluid will be my next project.

Re: new member from Miami
Lots of folks don't realize that the front calipers on the Roadster are the same as early Jaguar, Ferrari, and a few other high end, very fast vintage cars. They are way overkill in a Roadster when they work properly.
