1970 Sidemarkers

Post by Datrock »

I have a question for those familiar with the 1970 roadsters. My side marker lights came in a mixed box of items, the screws in them look like long wood screws. So I went to mount the lights on the body and I found out the screws are alot smaller than the body holes, could I be missing some kind of mounting clip or backing plate. Maybe I just need screws that will except a threaded nut. Any helpfull info would be much appreaciated, Thanks ahead of time... Bill

Bill,

There should be a little metal clip that slides onto the fender marker light opening where the notches are. It has a hole in it for the screw. Not a very good description but you might be able to visit the Help section of the local autoparts store and get something that would work.

They are often referred to as J nuts. Steve is right - just about any parts store should have them.
